Marcus conducted an experiment to investigate the effects of acoustic environment on task performance.

Participants were divided into two separate groups:

  • Condition A: Participants completed a proofreading task in complete silence.
  • Condition B: Participants completed the same proofreading task with white noise playing in the background.

Marcus recorded the total number of errors made by each participant. He then carried out a Mann-Whitney U test on his data.
