A developmental psychologist is conducting an observational study on pedestrian safety and smartphone distraction at a metropolitan city centre.
Observations of pedestrians approaching road crossings were recorded. The researcher observed behaviour across six different pedestrian crossings (Crossing A to Crossing F), categorising pedestrians by age group (Young Adults vs Mature Adults) and whether they were distracted by their mobile phones while crossing.
