Question 48

Dr. Aris is researching a new spatial-awareness mobile game to see how effective it is in reducing the reaction times (in seconds) of drone pilots during emergency maneuvers.

Dr. Aris used 12 trainee pilots: 6 in the control group (no game played) and 6 in the experimental group (played the game for 20 minutes before testing). Dr. Aris predicted that pilots who played the game would show shorter reaction times than the control group.

Dr. Aris decided to perform a Mann-Whitney U test to find out whether the game had a significant effect on reaction times. Table 5 shows the ranked results.

Complete Table 5 and calculate the Mann-Whitney U value for this data.
