Reload the page. A tab left open while we release an update is the most common cause, and a reload fixes it. If it happens again, the error page shows an error ID. Send us that ID with a note of what you were doing, and it takes us straight to what failed.
When the error page shows an ID, it is worth copying. It links to the exact failure on our side, which means we do not have to reproduce the problem to find it. A report with an ID is usually answered the same day; one without can take much longer.
Tell us what you were doing when it happened as well. The same error page appears for a lot of different causes, so what you were part-way through is often the most useful clue.
MathsGenie needs a reasonably current browser, and a version that is a few years old can fail to load the site at all rather than degrading gracefully. If you are on an old phone or a school computer that has not been updated in a long time, that is worth ruling out before anything else.
There is no app to install. MathsGenie is a website and works in a browser on any device, so if you have been looking for us in an app store, you have not missed anything.
Papers open in a viewer built into the page, because Safari on iOS and iPadOS cannot show a PDF properly inside one: it paints the first page as a still image and will not scroll. Where you see an option to open a paper in a new tab, that is why, and on an iPhone it is often the better way to read a long paper.
If a page tells you we do not have something for your subject yet, it is accurate rather than broken. Coverage varies by exam board, and a topic can have questions on one board before another. Where another board has what you are after, the page will usually say so.
A qualification marked as coming soon is exactly that, and it is not something signing in or upgrading will unlock.
The error page has a report link, and there is a bug report form linked from the bottom of every help article. Include the error ID if you have one, the page you were on, and what you expected to happen.
Back to the help centreTell us what you were trying to do and what happened instead. If it is about your account or a payment, send it from the email address on the account so we can find you.
