  1. A volumetric pipette is used to measure 25.00 cm3 of sodium carbonate solution into a conical flask.
  2. A few drops of methyl orange indicator are added to the flask.
  3. A burette is filled with the nitric acid.
  4. The nitric acid is added slowly to the sodium carbonate solution until the end-point is reached.
