Watching live-streaming creators has become a highly popular online activity, with viewers often purchasing virtual gifts (such as digital badges, stickers, or special animations) using real money to support creators or gain their direct attention during broadcasts.
A group of researchers wanted to investigate whether the number of virtual transactions correlated with the time spent watching live-streams.
