Copper(II) sulfate solution conducts electricity.

Figure 1: An incomplete electrolysis circuit consisting of a beaker filled with blue copper(II) sulfate solution. Two inert carbon graphite electrodes are submerged in the solution. Wires connect the two electrodes to a low voltage d.c. power supply, with a gap left in the connection for another component.

State one component that can be added to the gap in the circuit in Figure 1 to show that an electrical current is flowing.
