AQA and Edexcel each have two papers worth $90$ marks. OCR has two papers worth $80$ marks. Eduqas combines a $100$-mark component with a $60$-mark component.

Consider a student who took Edexcel GCSE Business in June 2025. This historical example uses the published 2025 boundaries; it is not a prediction for 2026.

Suppose the student received:

Their combined mark is therefore $126$ out of $180$. In June 2025, Edexcel required $124$ for grade $7$ and $133$ for grade $8$.

Because

$$124\le 126<133,$$

the result would be grade $7$. The student is $2$ marks above the grade $7$ boundary and $7$ marks below the grade $8$ boundary.

Notice what has not happened: the two papers have not been assigned separate final grades and averaged. The marks have simply been added, then compared with the qualification-level boundary. What happens on GCSE Business results day 2026?

GCSE results are released to candidates on Thursday 20 August 2026. Exam boards publish their official grade boundaries on results day, with public boundary information available from $8.00am$. Your school or exam centre decides how and when you collect or access your results, so follow its instructions.

Your results slip may show your grade without the raw marks needed for a detailed comparison. If so, ask your teacher or exams officer for the mark information available to the centre.
