A cognitive psychologist conducted an experiment to investigate the effects of cognitive load on working memory performance. Ten participants completed a visual search task under two conditions: a low cognitive load condition and a high cognitive load condition. The number of errors made by each participant in both conditions was recorded. The results are shown in Table 1 below.
Table 1: Number of errors made under low and high cognitive load conditions
| Participant | Low cognitive load | High cognitive load |
|---|---|---|
| Participant A | 2 | 6 |
| Participant B | 4 | 12 |
| Participant C | 3 | 7 |
| Participant D | 5 | 11 |
| Participant E | 2 | 9 |
| Participant F | 4 | 13 |
| Participant G | 3 | 8 |
| Participant H | 5 | 11 |
| Participant I | 3 | 6 |
| Participant J | 3 | 7 |
| Mean | 3.4 | 9.0 |
Calculate the standard deviation for the high cognitive load condition. Show your working and give your answer to two significant figures.
