A forensic psychologist investigated the impact of a defendant's physical attractiveness on mock jurors' perception of guilt. Mock jurors read a transcript of a burglary case accompanied by a photograph of the defendant. The photograph was manipulated to show either a highly attractive individual (Condition A) or an unattractive individual (Condition B). Participants then rated the defendant's likelihood of guilt on a scale from 1 (completely innocent) to 10 (completely guilty).
