A sealed gas cylinder has a volume of 0.025 m3 and contains gas at a pressure of 12 MPa. The gas is used to fill balloons at a pressure of 100 kPa. The temperature of the gas does not change. Assume that all of the gas can be removed from the cylinder.
Calculate the total volume of the gas at a pressure of 100 kPa.
Each balloon holds 0.012 m3 of gas. Determine the maximum number of balloons that can be filled from the cylinder.
The pressure of the gas in the cylinder is measured again after some of the gas has been used. Explain why the pressure is now lower.
