Hydrocarbon Y is an unsaturated monomer used to manufacture plastics.

Structural formula of hydrocarbon Y: a central carbon-carbon double bond (C=C). The left carbon is bonded to two hydrogen (H) atoms. The right carbon is bonded to one hydrogen (H) atom and one methyl (CH3) group.
