Question 68

Figure 1 shows a Snellen eye chart used by a school nurse to screen students' vision for myopia (short-sightedness).

A classic Snellen eye chart with a large letter 'E' at the top and subsequent rows of progressively smaller letters, used for testing visual acuity.

A student's vision is determined by the smallest row of letters they can read accurately from a set distance.

The school nurse screened 350 students.

74% of these students had normal vision and did not require corrective lenses.

The rest of the students had myopia and needed corrective lenses.
