Step-by-step method

  1. Start with the formula:
V=IR V=IR V=IR
  1. Make III the subject by dividing both sides by RRR:
I=VR I=\frac{V}{R} I=RV​
  1. Substitute values:
I=123 I=\frac{12}{3} I=312​
  1. Calculate:
I=4 I=4 I=4

So I=4 AI=4\text{ A}I=4 A.
