Sleep quality is heavily influenced by bedtime routines, particularly the use of digital devices. To investigate this, a researcher used a questionnaire to find out which primary screen activity participants aged 18–25 and aged 50–67 engage in during the 30 minutes immediately before trying to sleep. Below is a table displaying the data collected from 300 individuals who participated in the study.
Table: Number of responses in each category when participants were asked to identify their primary pre-sleep screen activity
| Scrolling social media | Watching streaming services | Answering work emails | Reading e-books | Playing mobile games | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Young adults (18–25) | 78 | 42 | 11 | 9 | 20 |
