Protecting the mural
Text: an original contemporary report-style practice extract.
Work on the building beside a street mural was paused after dust settled on the painted surface. The project team covered the mural with a temporary protective screen and moved the material-cutting area farther away. Workers continued painting the building’s interior. The mural itself was not repainted during the pause.
The screen had to leave enough room for pedestrians to pass. A narrow gap at its base allowed inspectors to check whether more dust was collecting. The team photographed the mural each morning from the same position so that changes would be easier to spot.
From the opening paragraph, identify two actions the project team took to protect the mural after dust settled on it.
