In the characterisation of a newly synthesised semiconductor crystal, a 5.44 g5.44\text{ g}5.44 g specimen of a binary compound consisting of a transition metal T\mathbf{T}T and a pnictogen Z\mathbf{Z}Z was decomposed. Analytical measurements showed that the specimen contained 1.24 g1.24\text{ g}1.24 g of element Z\mathbf{Z}Z, with the remainder of the mass being element T\mathbf{T}T.
