Beginning before the collection of equipment is complete
Original practice source: a commentary about equipment for a new interest.
The right equipment can make an attempt possible. A beginner may need a suitable tool, clear information and a realistic account of what can be tried with it. Preparation is not automatically a way of postponing the activity.
A large set of possessions can also become a substitute for beginning. Owning every item associated with an interest does not reveal which parts of the activity someone will enjoy or need. A modest first attempt can make later choices more informed, provided it is appropriate to the task and does not ignore genuinely necessary conditions.
A magazine for young readers is inviting articles on the statement: “You should have all the proper equipment before starting a new interest.”
Write an article for the magazine arguing your view. You may use ideas from the source and your own ideas.
