Preparing the lesson

I had prepared enough material for three sessions, though I was only teaching one. Packing the extra sheets made me feel safer until I tried to carry the bag. At the workshop, the organiser told me that several people had never used the equipment before. I worried that I had planned too much and explained too little. I left most of the sheets in the bag and set one simple example on the table. The room was still empty, but I could now imagine helping a beginner rather than proving how much I knew.

In your own words, explain the writer's thoughts and feelings before teaching the course.
