The exhibition headphones

The listening installation contained six recordings that visitors could select separately. Testing began badly: labels for the second and third recordings had been swapped. The first set of headphones reproduced a steady hiss under quiet speech. Another pair had a cable too short to reach the bench intended for seated listeners. The controls were labelled with small grey lettering that several testers struggled to read. Finally, a recording began loudly whenever somebody returned to the menu, startling the next visitor before they had adjusted the volume.

Describe the problems discovered when testing the listening installation. You may support your points with brief quotations.
