The library entrance hall was uncluttered. Low shelves stood against the walls, leaving a wide path from the door to the main desk. A row of hooks held visitors’ coats, while returned books were stacked neatly on a trolley in one corner. Although several families had arrived at once, nobody needed to squeeze past another person.

From the passage, select one word or phrase that shows there was plenty of space to move through the library entrance hall.
