Study Fig. 1, which shows Glen Coe in the Scottish Highlands.

An image showing Glen Coe in the Scottish Highlands. The main feature is a wide, flat-bottomed U-shaped valley with steep, near-vertical rocky sides. A small, narrow stream (misfit stream) winds through the broad valley floor. In the background, a sharp, steep-sided pyramidal peak rises dramatically, with jagged ridges and bare rock faces visible on its slopes.
