Question 248

Leading a school welcome tour

Your school is asking pupils to lead welcome tours for new pupils and their families. Write a section for a guide that helps pupil guides make the visit useful and easy to follow.

Inform and advise readers about what visitors should discover, how to guide a group around the school and how to prepare for problems that might arise.

You might consider which questions matter most to visitors, how the group can move between stops without getting lost or blocking busy areas, and what guides can do if a room is unavailable or someone needs extra help.

You may also use your own ideas.

Your response will be assessed for communication and organisation, and for vocabulary, sentence structures, spelling and punctuation. The total includes 16 marks for vocabulary, sentence structures, spelling and punctuation.
