Poly(propene) is an addition polymer.

Figure 1 shows a section of a poly(propene) chain formed from three propene monomers.

Figure 1 showing a polymer chain of poly(propene). The polymer chain has a horizontal backbone of six carbon atoms linked together by single covalent bonds. On the first, third, and fifth carbon atoms in the chain, there is a hydrogen atom pointing upwards and a methyl (CH3) group pointing downwards. On the second, fourth, and sixth carbon atoms, there is a hydrogen atom pointing upwards and a hydrogen atom pointing downwards. Extension bonds are shown at both ends of the carbon chain to indicate that it continues.
