Tungsten can be extracted from tungsten oxide, WO3\text{WO}_3WO3​, by reaction with hydrogen.

120 tonnes of tungsten oxide was heated with hydrogen. The tungsten formed in the reaction was separated and purified. The mass of tungsten was then determined.
