Silage Production for Livestock Feed

Procedure for preparing grass silage:

1. Harvest the grass crop at 60–70% moisture content.
2. Chop the grass into short lengths (approx. 3 cm) to allow tight compaction.
3. Pack the chopped grass into a silage clamp or wrap it tightly in multiple layers of plastic film.
4. Add a bacterial inoculant containing lactic acid bacteria.
5. Ensure the clamp or wrap is completely sealed to maintain a strictly anaerobic environment.
