Priya and Marcus watched a video clip of an airport boarding gate during a busy holiday period, and later discussed what they saw. Priya described a highly professional scene, recalling a boarding agent wearing a formal navy blazer neatly scanning tickets, and a pilot in a full uniform with a pilot's cap walking onto the plane. Marcus, however, insisted the boarding agent was wearing a bright yellow high-visibility vest and looked extremely stressed, and that the pilot was wearing a casual leather jacket and carrying a cup of coffee.
Marcus also recalled a security guard running over and restraining an angry passenger. Priya disagreed, arguing that the security guard was just walking past and the passenger had simply tripped over a suitcase. Marcus insisted that because the airport was overcrowded and flights were delayed, the security guard must have restrained the passenger to maintain order.
Discuss, using reconstructive memory (Bartlett, 1932), including schema theory, Priya's and Marcus's recall of the airport scene.
