A social psychologist investigated whether relaxation levels are affected by the environment a person walks in. They asked 25 participants to walk in a busy urban shopping center for 30 minutes on the first day (Day 1). The same participants were then asked to walk in a quiet natural forest reserve for 30 minutes on the second day (Day 2).
Each participant was then asked to rate their relaxation level at the end of Day 2 as "more than", "less than", or "the same as" on Day 1.
