An occupational health researcher is studying the relationship between "burnout risk" and occupational cognitive errors in air traffic controllers.
The researcher designs a new self-report diagnostic tool called the "Controller Burnout Index" (CBI). The questionnaire yields a score from 0 to 50, where higher scores indicate a higher risk of burnout. Forty-five trainee air traffic controllers complete the CBI.
The researcher also monitors their performance on a high-fidelity flight simulator over a three-hour shift to record the number of critical routing errors made.
Outline one way in which the researcher could assess the validity of the "Controller Burnout Index" (CBI).
