A developmental psychologist carried out an overt structured observation of infant-grandparent interaction. She observed an infant girl interacting separately with her grandmother and grandfather. Using a time sampling technique, she observed the infant with each grandparent for 15 minutes. Her findings are shown in Table 1 below.
