Stimulus: Developmental Coordination Study
A researcher investigated fine motor performance in young children. A matched pairs design was used. This involved 12 children diagnosed with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) and 12 children without DCD. Each child was timed completing a bead-threading task in a quiet room. The researcher recorded the duration (in seconds) it took for each child to successfully thread 10 wooden beads onto a string. The results showed that children with DCD took significantly longer to complete the task than children without DCD.
