A researcher showed a volunteer sample of 30 students from an undergraduate Sociology lecture a video clip of a physical altercation between two people at a busy train ticket barrier. Afterward, 15 of these students were allowed to discuss the event in pairs (post-event discussion condition), while the remaining 15 students sat in silence individually (control condition). All participants then completed an individual recall questionnaire about the details of the altercation.
