Study of Urban Air Quality and Commuter Wellbeing

An environmental consultancy is investigating the impact of a newly implemented "Low-Emission Zone" (LEZ) on the commute satisfaction and self-reported respiratory health of the local workforce.

To conduct this study, the researchers collected data from two groups:

• Group A consisted of a volunteer sample of active commuters recruited via an online survey link shared on a popular local cycling club's social media page.
• Group B (the comparison group) consisted of a convenience sample of motorists who were surveyed while parking in a premium multi-storey commercial car park situated just outside the boundary of the LEZ on a Tuesday morning.

The researchers compared the satisfaction and respiratory health scores of the two groups to draw conclusions about the general workforce commuting into the area.
