A clinical psychologist investigating treatments for Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) compares two clinical interventions. Intervention 1 requires participants to complete a 12-week course of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Intervention 2 requires a matched sample of participants to complete a 12-week course of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). The participants are all males aged 25.
At the start and end of the 12-week programs, each participant completes a standardized clinical tool to determine an anxiety severity score out of 50, where a higher score indicates greater anxiety.
