Museum Exhibit Study

Researchers wanted to investigate which types of exhibits attracted the most visitor engagement at a local science museum.

There were three types of exhibits in the main hall:

  • interactive touchscreen kiosks
  • static display cases with text plaques
  • continuous loop video screens.

The researchers monitored the main hall using the museum's security camera footage. Over five consecutive weekend days, they watched the footage for the first 10 minutes of every hour between 10:00 and 16:00. Each time a visitor stopped at an exhibit during these 10-minute windows, the researchers recorded which type of exhibit it was and how long the visitor spent there.

Which two of the following procedures did the researchers use in this study?

Select two choices.

A: Controlled observation B: Time sampling C: Natural experiment D: Naturalistic observation E: Random sampling
