A researcher conducted a laboratory experiment to investigate the effect of ambient room temperature on short-term numerical recall.

A sample of 25 participants was recruited.

Each participant was asked to recall a sequence of 15 digits under two conditions:

  • Condition A: In a room maintained at a comfortable temperature of 21°C.
  • Condition B: In the same room maintained at a hot temperature of 32°C.

All 25 participants completed the recall task under Condition A first, and then under Condition B.

Explain one advantage of using a laboratory experiment in this study.
