(ii) Calculate the acceleration of the child and cart.

(iii) Suggest a reason why the parent must pull the cart with a force that is greater than 36 N36\text{ N}36 N.

The cart is then placed at the top of a smooth ramp.

(i) State the equation linking acceleration, velocity and time.

(ii) Show that the cart reaches a speed of approximately 5.6 m/s5.6\text{ m/s}5.6 m/s after it has accelerated for 3.1 s3.1\text{ s}3.1 s.
