Question 193

A vacant shop has been turned into a one-day ‘try-a-trade’ event for young people. Visitors could attempt short practical tasks, speak to workers and collect information about further opportunities.

Write a review for a youth website. Evaluate how successfully the event gave beginners a realistic experience while allowing them to work independently and safely. Recommend whether the event should return, and identify one change that would make a future event more useful. You may invent the details.

Your work will be assessed on communication and adaptation to audience and purpose (27 marks), and organisation and technical accuracy (18 marks).
