Question 150

At your school’s recent talent show, pupils and families voted for one act to receive an audience award. The school website is publishing a review of how successfully the event celebrated its performers.

Present your verdict as a review for pupils and families. As part of your judgement, evaluate the way the audience award affected recognition of the different acts and decide whether it should return next year. You may invent suitable details about the acts, the voting and the result.

You may use these questions to help plan your review:

  • Which performances were especially successful, and why?
  • How did the audience award affect attention and excitement during the show?
  • Did the voting recognise the different kinds of talent fairly?
  • Should the award return next year, and should anything be changed?

Your work will be assessed on communication and adaptation to audience and purpose (27 marks), and organisation and technical accuracy (18 marks).
