Question 80

A library for the courtyard

The mobile library was due to open in the college courtyard after lunch, but the delivery arrived more than an hour late. The assembly sheet in the first case showed a different model, so its diagrams could not be followed. When the first shelving unit was standing, it leaned noticeably because the old paving sloped towards a drain. One carton held shelves cut for a narrower design, leaving two units without enough shelves to complete them. Finally, the only outdoor socket was so far from the issuing desk that the cable for the book scanner would not reach it.

Describe the problems faced when setting up the mobile library in the courtyard. You may use brief quotations to support your answer.
