The label inside the coat
Original opinion extract, written for practice.
Inside my new coat is a label offering six tiny symbols and one confident sentence: care for your garment responsibly. I had hoped responsibility might include being told what to do. The symbols are printed so small that I need better light to distinguish a permitted action from its crossed-out cousin. I understand why an international product cannot carry a small book in every language. I would still welcome a readable label and a clear explanation available somewhere the purchaser can find it. A beautiful coat should not require detective work before its first wash. If the manufacturer knows a mistake would be costly, that seems a reason to make the instruction easier to understand, rather than a reason to make the customer feel unusually foolish afterwards.
Use your own words to evaluate the writer’s attitude to unclear clothing-care instructions. Give details from the extract to justify your answer.
