The drone above the goal

Original fiction extract.

The small drone hovered above the empty goal while the film club checked its camera view. From the touchline, it looked as though somebody had pinned a toy against the sky. Nobody was playing on the field yet. The operator moved it aside before the team came out, and we watched the recorded view on a screen. The goal which seemed enormous from below occupied only a small rectangle in the image. We decided to begin the film from ground level instead.
