Question 4

A conducting strip forms part of a laboratory magnetic-field demonstrator. A length of 0.120 m of the strip is inside a uniform magnetic field and is at right angles to the field. The current in the strip is 1.5 A. The magnetic flux density is 0.60 T0.60\ \text{T}0.60 T.

Calculate the magnitude of the magnetic force acting on the section of conductor inside the demonstrator.

Use the equation

F=B×I×lF = B \times I \times lF=B×I×l
