The engineer has two methods available to measure this travel time:

  1. Use a manual handheld stopwatch.
  2. Use high-speed infrared barrier sensors connected to an electronic micro-controller.

The engineer chose to use the electronic infrared barrier sensors.

Explain why this choice was correct.
