An experimental setup showing a glass beaker filled with water (a water bath) placed on a tripod and gauze above a Bunsen burner. Inside the water bath, there is a glass stirrer, a thermometer, and a sealed test tube containing a coil of copper wire. The copper wire leads extend out of the tube and are connected to a digital ohmmeter showing a resistance reading.

Give one reason why using a water bath is better than heating the copper wire coil directly with a Bunsen burner flame.
