A construction worker uses a steel pinch bar as a lever to lift a heavy concrete slab.

The diagram shows the forces acting on the bar when it is balanced.

A diagram showing a straight steel lever supported by a pivot. To the left of the pivot, a downward force of 150 N is applied at a distance of 1.6 m. To the right of the pivot, a force F acts vertically upwards against a concrete slab at a distance of 0.30 m from the pivot.
