A dockworker uses a manual lever system to lift a heavy crate of machinery as shown in the diagram below.

The crate exerts a downward force of 4800 N at a distance of 0.65 m from the pivot. To balance this load, a downward effort of 1200 N is applied at the opposite end of the lever.
