A diver's air tank is filled using a compressor. The compressor pushes air into the tank quickly.
During filling, the tank becomes hot.
After filling, the valve is closed and the tank is left to cool to room temperature. The pressure of the air in the tank is then found to be lower than it was just after filling.
Explain these observations.
Your answer should refer to the work done on the air, the motion of the particles and the pressure of the air.
