Figure 1 shows two tractors pulling a heavy tree trunk.

The tree trunk is connected to the tractors with tow ropes.

The tension, TTT, in each of the ropes has a magnitude of 15 kN15\text{ kN}15 kN.

The ropes are at right angles to each other.
