A student investigates the tension behavior of a copper wire. They obtain the data shown in the table below, representing the relationship between the applied force and the extension of the wire.

A graph showing force in Newtons on the y-axis against extension in millimetres on the x-axis. From 0 to 6 mm of extension, the graph is a straight line starting at the origin (0,0) and reaching (6, 42). From 6 mm to 24 mm, the graph behaves non-linearly, showing a curve that flattens out. The force increases at a decreasing rate to a maximum of 70 N at an extension of 18 mm, after which the force decreases to 66 N at 24 mm extension, where the wire breaks.
